ABOUT

I am a freelance artist and photographer based in San Juanico, Baja Sur, Mexico,  and occasionally San Diego, California.  Formally trained in Fine Art and Design from Humboldt State University ('97), my focus for many years was Scientific Illustration; working for parks, museums and aquariums.  Pulled towards nature, I create art to help foster that connection to the natural world.  My wood pieces are sourced from recycled lumber, junkyards, construction scraps or purchased from families using sustainable trees.  I love every aspect of pyrography and working with wood, the smell, the texture and shape and grain.  Turquoise inlay. India Ink.  My current series is of the precious native flora and fauna of Baja.  My home.

My most current work for sale can be found on my Instagram page @galeria.cami.la

In my photographs, I like to watch my subjects emerge, my goal in portraits is to connect people to their passion, when people are comfortable and having fun, their true selves blossom.... it's so rewarding getting to participate with that process!  Everyone should have that, that one or few special pictures that really resonate, feel natural,  and connect. My photographs focus on design, light, shape and discovery.

I am available for professional lifestyle/ profile photo shoots in Southern California and Southern Baja, Mexico.
